Leonardo Jardim has claimed that AS Monaco's 3-1 first-leg Champions League playoff defeat at Valencia last night was "unfair".
Goals from Rodrigo and Dani Parejo, either side of Mario Pasalic's second-half equaliser, gave Los Che a 2-1 lead before Sofiane Feghouli struck late on to add to the visitors' woes.
Bernardo Silva saw a first-half effort tipped onto the post, and Jardim says that his troops were unlucky to leave the Mestalla with such a defeat.
"The result is unfair for two reasons. First, we hit the post. If that had gone in, the goal would have changed the rest of the game," he told UEFA.com.
"Also, when we were playing better Valencia scored their second and third goals. Conceding goals like today, from balls across the area, is bad. This is not normal for our team and we need to correct it.
"We have to score two goals at home, we have the ambition to try and win this tie."
The return leg takes place at Stade Louis II next Tuesday.
