Report: Arsenal hunt Granit Xhaka

Arsenal close in on a £33m swoop for Granit Xhaka, according to reports.

Arsenal are reportedly closing in on signing Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka.

The 23-year-old was thought to be on Manchester City's radar this summer, but the Gunners look like joining the race for the highly-rated Swiss ace.

According to Sky Germany, manager Arsene Wenger has already met with Xhaka's father to thrash out the details of a move, which could cost the North Londoners £33m.

Xhaka has netted three goals in 22 Bundesliga appearances for the German outfit so far this season.

His contract expires in 2019.
