Stuart Hogg delighted with Scotland victory over Japan

Scotland full-back Stuart Hogg tells Sports Mole that he is delighted with his side's bonus-point win over Japan in their opening match of the Rugby World Cup.

Scotland full-back Stuart Hogg has described himself as "chuffed to bits" after his side got their Rugby World Cup campaign off to a winning start against Japan this afternoon.

Vern Cotter's side ran in five second-half tries to emerge 45-10 victors over South Africa's conquerors, although the game was not quite as one-sided as the scoreline suggests.

Despite that, Hogg was pleased to have moved top of Pool B courtesy of the bonus point that accompanied their fourth try.

When asked whether the scoreline flattered his side, Hogg told Sports Mole: "No, not really. We maybe got a few breakaway tries, but that came off the back of good defensive pressure. We've worked hard on that and we're chuffed to bits with it.

"Obviously they had a cracking result against [South Africa], but for us it was a case of bringing our game and thankfully that paid off.

"We've targeted getting out of the pool stages here, so to get a win and a bonus point first up was exactly what we were after. But now it's a case of working hard again and moving onto our next job."

Next up for Scotland is a match against USA in Leeds on Sunday.
