Semesa Rokoduguni ruled out of South Africa clash

Bath winger Semesa Rokoduguni is ruled out of England's match against South Africa this weekend with a hip injury, while Marland Yarde replaces him in the squad.

England winger Semesa Rokoduguni has been ruled out of this Saturday's clash with South Africa at Twickenham through injury.

The Fijian-born Bath player made his debut for England last weekend as Stuart Lancaster's side opened their Autumn Internationals with a 24-21 defeat to world champions New Zealand.

However, he picked up a hip injury in that match and has subsequently been left out of the squad for this weekend's meeting with the Springboks.

Harlequins winger Marland Yarde, who has five caps to his name already, replaces Rokoduguni in the squad, while James Haskell has also been called up due to concerns over the fitness of Tom Wood.

"The players have responded well and we've had a good few days' training. Roko did some limited training this morning but is unlikely to fully recover from his thigh injury in time for the game so Marland is in the group coming back tomorrow," Lancaster told reporters.

"Tom [Wood] is still sore from the weekend and sat out training so we are including five back-rows to give us options before we announce the side on Thursday morning."

England have not beaten South Africa for almost eight years, losing 10 and drawing one of their 11 meetings since their last victory.
