Wolverhampton Wanderers have taken a one-goal lead into half time of their Championship match against Derby County thanks to a Kevin Doyle strike.
The home side came within inches of taking the lead 11 minutes in when Doyle nodded Slawomir Peszko's cross back to Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, who took a touch before firing his effort against the crossbar.
Jamie Ward responded for the visitors, hitting the woodwork himself when he saw his strike tipped onto the post by Carl Ikeme. Ikeme was the saviour for Wolves again after 25 minutes, pulling off a fine save from a powerful free kick.
Wolves broke the deadlock with just under ten minutes left of the half, Doyle getting on the end of a good move that involved David Edwards and Peszko to put his side ahead.
Derby almost drew back level when Conor Sammon was through on goal, but Ikeme was equal to the striker's effort as the hosts held on to their lead.
