Gareth McAuley has played down speculation that he has stalled contract negotiations with West Bromwich Albion.
Recent reports have claimed that the defender, who has 14 months left on his current deal, has an issue with the second part of a two-year offer that has been made by the Baggies.
However, the 33-year-old has refuted the claims and has instead hinted that he is close to reaching an agreement with the club.
"There have been bits and pieces come out. That's been disappointing to say that things are stalling or I'm not happy. I'm relaxed because I have next season anyway," the Birmingham Mail quotes him as saying.
"Things are progressing, it's been casual and I think there will be a resolution. That's where I want to be. There are no problems there. I don't feel like I'm in my mid-30s. I just love playing, love training.
"As long as I can do that I'm happy. The club have given me a chance to play at this level and I owe them something."
McAuley joined West Brom from Ipswich Town in 2011.
