Valenciennes registered a comfortable 3-0 victory at home over 10-man Ajaccio in their Ligue 1 fixture on Saturday.
The hosts were in control of the match throughout and took the lead in the 16th minute when Mamadou Samassa headed home Gael Danic's cross from close range.
Ajaccio's chances of finding an equaliser took a hit when Jean-Baptiste Pierazzi was sent off in the 37th minute.
Valenciennes took advantage of their numerical superiority and went 2-0 up in the 56th minute, as Loris Nery found the target from close range.
The hosts bagged their third goal of the game nine minutes from time when Ajaccio midfielder David Oberhauser put the ball into the back of his own net.
