Belgian goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has hailed the Sunderland supporters that made the trip to Wigan Athletic earlier today.
Despite the wintry conditions, an estimated 5,000 fans made the 300-mile round trip from Wearside for the fixture, which Sunderland won 3-2.
Speaking after the match, Mignolet dedicated the victory to those that had travelled to the Greater Manchester region.
"The fans were unbelievable. For 5,000 people to travel down in the wintry conditions and support us was fantastic," he told the club's official website.
"It felt like we were playing a home game out there and I'm just glad we could give them something back by winning the game."
Sunderland have now moved up to 11th in the Premier League table.
