Leicester come from two down to draw at Stoke

Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy score in the second half as Leicester City come from 2-0 down for the second week running to extend their unbeaten start against Stoke.

Leicester City have come from 2-0 down at half time for the second weekend in a row to draw 2-2 with Stoke City and preserve their unbeaten start to the season in a thrilling Premier League clash at the Britannia Stadium.

Potters fans were buoyed ahead of kickoff by the news of Bojan's first league start since injuring his cruciate ligament in January, and after Xherdan Shaqiri had fired wide from a good position, the Spaniard left an early mark on the match.

Marko Arnautovic cut in from the left wing and the winger's reverse pass found the former Barcelona man in space to slot home the opener past Kasper Schmeichel.

With just 20 minutes the Foxes went 2-0 down in calamitous fashion when Wes Morgan's attempted back-pass to Schmeichel was far too weak and Jonathan Walters nipped in to follow Bojan's example by marking his return to the league lineup with a goal with a cool finish.

The link-up of Stoke's attacking players was too much for second-placed Leicester in the first period, and it was inches away from being 3-0 and possibly game over when Greg Cameron's dangerous cross missed everyone in the box as Stoke looked set to secure a first league win of the season.

The Potters started the second half in control but shortly after the restart the visitors were handed a route back into the game when Arnautovic bundled over Danny Drinkwater in the box and Riyad Mahrez converted from the spot to halve the deficit.

Jamie Vardy turned his effort over the crossbar and only last-ditch Leicester defending prevented Shaqiri scoring as both teams hunted for the decisive fourth goal.

The Foxes came back from 2-0 down at half time to beat Aston Villa 3-2 last Sunday and Vardy, who scored the equaliser in that game, repeated the trick by latching on to Mahrez's flick-on to beat Butland as restore parity.

Both sides applied pressure in the final 20 minutes but neither could find a third goal as Stoke were denied a first win of the season and Leicester remained unbeaten.
