Rotherham United boss Steve Evans says that striker Alex Revell will improve as a player.

Rotherham United manager Steve Evans has said that striker Alex Revell will improve as a player.

The 30-year-old, who helped the club to promotion from League Two last season, has scored three goals in two pre-season games.

Millers boss Evans has revealed that Revell has been working on his game over the summer.

"If I didn't think he was going to be a real handful in League One I would never have given him a two-year deal," Evans told the Rotherham Advertiser.

"Alex will get better. We have started to work on his movement and ball retention and getting in the box.

"Before he had a tendency to want to link the play in the second and third phase which is why his goals ratio was poor."

Revell scored six goals in 46 appearances last season.
