Jose Semedo: 'Cristiano Ronaldo will finish career at Premier League club'

Jose Semedo says that his former Sporting Lisbon teammate Cristiano Ronaldo will return to the Premier League at some point in the future.

Cristiano Ronaldo's former Sporting Lisbon teammate Jose Semedo has claimed that the Manchester United legend is destined to finish his illustrious career in English football.

The Real Madrid star has often admitted that he has retained an affection for the Premier League after leaving the Red Devils in 2009.

The 30-year-old has already become the Blancos' all-time record goalscorer, surpassing Raul's haul of 323 earlier this season, but Semedo, who rose through the ranks at Sporting with Ronaldo, says that his heart belongs to England.

"He is very happy at Real Madrid [but] he loves English football, he loves English people, and deep down I think he will come back to England because it doesn't look like he wants to finish his career without getting back to England," the Sheffield Wednesday man told talkSPORT.

"He said he would wish Real Madrid is in England, but that is not possible. I believe he will end his career in English football again."

Ronaldo scored 118 goals during his trophy-laden spell at Old Trafford, which included three Premier League titles, an FA Cup and a Champions League crown.

He has also won three Ballons d'Or, two of which came in the colours of Real.
