Partick Thistle rename Firhill Stadium in sponsorship deal

Partick Thistle announce that they have changed the name of their stadium to The Energy Check Stadium at Firhill in a six-figure sponsorship deal.

Scottish Premiership side Partick Thistle have announced a six-figure naming rights deal that will see club's stadium renamed The Energy Check Stadium at Firhill.

The Maryhill club have signed a three-year deal with TECC Limited in what the Jags say will provide a significant new revenue stream for the Premiership outfit.

Announcing the deal, Thistle managing director Ian Maxwell told the Daily Record: "It is essential that we continue to explore as many new commercial opportunities as we can and this represents a significant level of new income for the club.

"As a board, we recognise the need to move with the times in order to match the resource available to other clubs. But we also recognise the importance of history and tradition in football. So that meant retaining Firhill as part of the new name and I am pleased Energy Check understood the significance too.

"The investment from The Energy Check opens up an entirely fresh source of commercial revenue for Partick Thistle and it really is superb to have a completely new partner on board. Everyone at the club is looking forward to a productive relationship over the next three years."

Thistle's move to give away naming rights for their ground follows on from Ross County renaming Victoria Park as the Global Energy Stadium and Livingston's Almondvale becoming the Tony Macaroni Arena.
