Everton, West Bromwich Albion keen on Morgan Schneiderlin?

Everton and West Bromwich Albion are reportedly preparing to fight it out for Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin in the January transfer window.

Everton and West Bromwich Albion are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United's out-of-favour midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin.

The 27-year-old, who moved to Old Trafford for £24m in July 2015, has featured just three times in the Premier League under Jose Mourinho this season, all as a late substitute.

Mourinho is believed to be open to the sale of the France international in the January transfer window as he plans a massive mid-season overhaul of his squad.

According to The Telegraph, both Everton and West Brom are in the hunt for a defensive midfielder next month and will fight it out for Schneiderlin's signature at a cost of around £20m.

Schneiderlin is well known to Toffees boss Ronald Koeman from their time together at Southampton and will be a cheaper option than £25m-rated Sevilla midfielder Steven Nzonzi.

The Baggies, meanwhile, are thought to have at least £21m to spend after they opted against signing William Carvalho from Sporting Lisbon on the final day of the summer transfer window.
