Sir Alex Ferguson admits he is pleased with Manchester United's away form this season following the 1-0 win over Aston Villa on Saturday.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted that he was pleased with his side's performance in their 1-0 win over Aston Villa on Saturday.

United's victory at Villa Park was their fifth away win of the season, as many as they managed in the entirety of the last campaign.

"We've won 1-0 away again and the one thing is we've increased our competition away from home," said Ferguson.

"We had a good rhythm to our game today and it's a good pitch to pass the ball. We always enjoy coming here."

United remain five points behind leaders Manchester City in the Premier League.
