AC Milan have been given permission by Manchester City to speak to striker Carlos Tevez's agent Kia Joorabchian over a possible January move.
The controversial frontman has been linked with a switch to the San Siro since his fall from grace at the Premier League side.
Man City were initially believed to be open to a permanent deal only for the 27-year-old, whereas the Italian giants preferred a loan switch for the Argentina striker. However, it appears that a deal may be close to an agreement that meets both parties.
"Tevez is a City player," Sky Sports News quote Milan's vice-president Adriano Galliani as saying. "The English club have authorised us to speak to his agent but we haven't spoken to City yet.
"We don't know what City want. I prefer not to speak too much about Tevez because his price will go up and that is not good."
Milan midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng recently admitted that Tevez would be a "perfect" addition to Serie A.
