Lyon manager Hubert Fournier has insisted that his side will need to improve from their 1-1 draw against AS Monaco when they face Zenit St Petersburg in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Olympique had trailed Leonardo Jardim's men for much of the game, but they snatched a point late on thanks to Rafael's equaliser with six minutes left to play.
"I regret that there was a lack of enthusiasm. We were playing too far away from each other, even if we had control of the game," said Fournier, according to the official Ligue 1 website.
"The second half was better with a lot of chances created. It's obvious that is it is hard for us to score these days. I made two substitutions and that made us more dangerous. There were glimpses of good football by half-time. I hope we will be better by Tuesday.
"We need to play more freely if we want to continue our Champions League dream. We reacted well in the second half. This is positive. We even had the chances to win. There were individual and collective shortcomings, though."
Lyon currently hold sixth spot in the league standings after 10 games played.
