Oussama Assaidi urges Stoke City to keep the ball down

Oussama Assaidi insists that Stoke City fans have yet to see the best of him, but says that the Potters must "play football better" in order to utilise his talent.

Stoke City loanee Oussama Assaidi has insisted that Potters fans have yet to see the best of him.

The Liverpool winger, who joined Stoke on a season-long loan in August, has started just 11 Premier League games this season.

He appeared as a second-half substitute during Wednesday night's 1-1 draw with Swansea City - a match that went ahead despite strong winds in Staffordshire.

The midweek blustery weather meant that playing passing football was difficult, but Assaidi hopes that his side will strive to keep the ball down in future.

He told The Sentinel: "I have a lot more still to offer this season. I also like to play in a football team, a team that plays football. If we pass too much in the air, I'm not Peter Crouch, it's no good for me!

"I hope the Swansea match was just a bad day and we will play football better in other games."

Stoke are currently 14th in the Premier League table, just three points above the relegation zone.
