Kenny Dalglish praises "excellent" Liverpool

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish describes his side's performance as "excellent" as they brush aside Brighton 6-1 in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish described his side as "excellent" after their 6-1 demolition of Brighton in the FA Cup fifth round.

The win has given the Reds a home tie against Stoke City in the quarter-finals of the competition.

"It was excellent," said the Scot. "In the second half I thought they played really well.

"We were patient and broke up a lot of their attacks and we broke on them quite quickly, so for myself and everybody connected with the football club, especially the players, it's been a fantastic result for us.

"I think everybody did really well and it's great for the people who have scored the goals, but they know how important it is for everybody to make a contribution. I think everybody did make a contribution."

Dalglish will lead his side out at Wembley Stadium next Sunday when they face Cardiff City in the Carling Cup final.
