Kenny Dalglish has praised Andy Carroll's performance in the FA Cup fourth round victory over Manchester United.
Carroll played a part in Dirk Kuyt's winner during the 2-1 win and Dalglish believes the striker is deserving of the patience shown to him.
Dalglish said: "He is good in the air but he we have to develop that, he has to develop it and he has got to work within our framework as well.
"We will work with him and we will be a lot more patient than a lot of people.
"I am sure we will get the rewards in the end but they are starting to bear fruit now."
Carroll has struggled for form and fitness since his £35m move from Newcastle United a year ago.
