Mike Phelan not expecting Liverpool, Manchester United trouble

Mike Phelan thinks that the Manchester United fans will be 'responsible' when they attend Anfield for the FA Cup match against Liverpool tomorrow.

Manchester United assistant manager Mike Phelan believes that the Red Devils following will be 'responsible' when they travel to Anfield for the highly-anticipated FA Cup fourth-round tie against Liverpool.

The arch rivals go head to head in the knockout clash tomorrow for the first time since Luis Suarez was found guilty of racially abusing Patrice Evra in October.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has called for calm ahead of the fixture, and Phelan believes that the Reds' rival fans will behave.

"We don't need to build this game up," Phelan told BBC Radio Manchester. "It speaks for itself. I am sure supporters will take care of their responsibilities."

Suarez will not feature in Kenny Dalglish's side as he continues to serve his eight-match ban, while Evra is expected to start and captain Sir Alex Ferguson's team.
