Nigel Pearson hails "phenomenal" achievement

Nigel Pearson praises his players for taking Leicester City within touching distance of the Championship title, following their 1-0 victory against Queens Park Rangers.

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has praised his players for taking the club a step closer to the Championship title.

The Foxes, who sealed promotion to the Premier League earlier this month, are now closing in on the league crown.

Pearson's side took another step to achieving that feat by defeating Queens Park Rangers 1-0 at the King Power Stadium earlier today.

"It was a good game between two good sides, which we deserved to win," the 50-year-old told reporters following the game. "I'm really pleased, and we're a step closer [to winning the league].

"The players looked focused today. I'm really pleased for them to get such a good win after already securing promotion. To win 28 games in a season is phenomenal. We want to win the last three too."

Leicester are back in action on Tuesday night when they face Bolton Wanderers.
