Robbie Fowler applies for Leeds United job?

A report claims that former Leeds United striker Robbie Fowler is keen to become the Championship club's new manager.

Robbie Fowler has reportedly applied for the managerial vacancy at Leeds United.

The Championship side have been without a permanent boss since Dave Hockaday was relieved of his duties by owner Massimo Cellino last month.

Neil Redfearn has since been placed in interim charge, while a host of names, including Carlos Queiroz, Steve Clarke and Chris Hughton, have been linked with the post.

However, Fowler, who scored 14 goals during a two-year spell at Elland Road as a player, has now thrown his hat into the ring, according to Sky Sports News.

The 39-year-old once had a brief stint in charge of Thai side Muangthong United.
