Goals from Zach Loyd and Ricardo Villar have helped Dallas begin their 2012 MLS campaign with a 2-1 win over New York Red Bulls at Pizza Hut Park.
Dallas opened the scoring after 11 minutes when Blas Perez found Loyd in the box and the 24-year-old
blasted a left-footed strike past Ryan Meara.
The lead was doubled just after the hour mark, with Perez again the provider. The Panama international played in Villar with a delightful through ball and the Brazilian cheekily chipped the keeper.
Red Bulls pulled one back 12 minutes from time as Kenny Cooper smashed Thierry Henry's pass into the top corner, but Dallas held on for the win.
