Reading emerge as the favourites to sign Celta Vigo striker Iago Aspas, according to reports.

Reading have reportedly emerged as the favourites to sign much-coveted Celta Vigo striker Iago Aspas.

The 25-year-old, who scored 23 goals in the Segunda Division last season, has struck eight in 18 La Liga appearances this season.

His form has reportedly attracted the interest of Chelsea, but according to the Reading Evening Post, Reading are prepared to activate the Spaniard's release clause, which is believed to be in the region of £8m.

Swansea City are also understood to be monitoring proceedings, but have thus far not made official contact with the Spanish club.
