Highly-rated Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has expressed his wish to remain on loan at Atletico Madrid for another season.
With Petr Cech firmly established as number one at Stamford Bridge, the 21-year-old stopper has spent the last two campaigns in La Liga in order to gain first-team experience.
The Blues have released back-up keepers Ross Turnbull and Hilario and therefore may be inclined to recall Courtois to their own ranks next year.
However, the Belgian international has revealed on Twitter that he would like to return to the Vicente Calderon Stadium for a third temporary spell.
He said: "Thank you very much to all athletic for this season! Your support in every game has been incredible. I want to stay here one more year to continue sharing joy with you!"
Courtois cost Chelsea £5m when they signed him from Racing Genk in 2011.
