Andre Villas-Boas admits that the current pressure facing Chelsea is fair.

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has admitted that the pressure on the club at the moment is fair.

The Blues, who dropped points at Wigan last weekend after a string of much needed wins, have fallen two points behind Tottenham – who have a game in hand – in the league table.

Speaking ahead of tonight's trip to White Hart Lane, Villas-Boas admitted that the club must do better going forward.

"The pressure that is on us is fair," he told the club's official website. "We wanted to be closer to the league leaders, that is 100% correct.

"At the moment we are far behind; dropping points at the weekend wasn't as dramatic as is being portrayed but we need to show the same commitment as we did when we beat Valencia and Manchester City a few weeks ago."

Chelsea haven't beaten Tottenham on the road since prior to the 2006-07 season.
