Celtic book a place in Thursday's draw for the group stages of the Champions League with a 1-0 home victory against Swedish champions Helsingborg.

Celtic secured a place in the Champions League group stages for the first time in four years with a comfortable home win against Helsingborg.

Leading 2-0 from last week's first leg and backed by a raucous home crowd, Celtic looked confident and secure right from the outset.

A marauding Georgios Samaras threatened early on as the Swedish champions struggled to make an impact.

The tie was effectively finished after 30 minutes as Celtic scored a contentious opening goal.

Gary Hooper got the benefit of a generous offside call to slot home from close range to send Hoops boss Neil Lennon wild on the touchline.

Celtic did a professional job in the second half, doubling their lead when Victor Wanyama got on the end of a Kris Commons cross minutes from time.

The Hoops will be delighted to confirm their place in Thursday's draw for the group stages.
