A Ricardo Vaz Te brace helped Barnsley notch their fourth straight league win by overcoming Crystal Palace this evening.
The two sides began the game level on points in the table but the game was not level for long as Vaz Te scored after just eight seconds, receiving the ball straight from kickoff on the wing before cutting inside and lashing a shot into the roof of the net.
After the exciting start the game died down and Palace equalised just after the half hour mark through Jermaine Easter.
The striker latched on to Stephen Foster's weak backpass and lobbed Luke Steele from the edge of the box to level the scores.
Vaz Te won the game for the Tykes 12 minutes from time by tapping home after Jacob Butterfield's effort was parried by Julian Speroni.
Keith Hill's side move within two points of the Championship playoffs while Palace drop to 12th.
