Conference Premier roundup: Barnet lead reduced at top

Sports Mole rounds up Tuesday night's action in the Conference Premier as Barnet suffer a 3-2 home defeat to Torquay United.

Barnet have seen their lead at the Conference Premier table reduced to six points after they fell to a 3-2 home defeat to Torquay United.

The Bees have been superb during the first three months of the campaign but two goals from Louis Briscoe helped Torquay to a surprise win at the Bee Hive Stadium.

Second-placed Grimsby Town took advantage of their defeat as a Shaun Pearson header earned the Mariners a 1-0 victory at home to Halifax Town.

Gateshead remain in third place despite conceding a late equaliser to Lincoln City in a back-and-forth encounter that ended 3-3 in the North-East.

Bristol Rovers are into fourth after drawing away at Alfreton Town, while Macclesfield Town moved to the brink of the playoffs after a 3-1 success against Chester FC.

Forest Green Rovers lost ground after being held by Eastleigh, but there were wins for Dartford and Dover Athletic near the foot of the table.

Nicky Deverdics scored the only goal as Athletic beat Braintree Town, with Dartford edging out nine-man Welling United.
