Barcelona boss Luis Enrique has claimed that a 0-0 draw in Saturday's Catalan derby was 'a fair result'.
The Spanish champions had the better of the chances against Espanyol in the La Liga clash, but the points were shared as Barcelona missed the chance to extend their lead at the top of the table.
Enrique has also lavished praise on Espanyol for their overall performance, claiming that the hosts "were at a very high level on the defensive side" as Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar all drew a blank.
"Espanyol did very well today. I think they played the way we thought they were going to play. It's always tough to face an opponent that plays with such high intensity," Enrique told reporters.
"They pressured us and made it tough, especially at the beginning of the match. We had a very good start to the second half. They had better rhythm in the opening minutes, and they were at a very high level on the defensive side. The result was fair for both teams, despite the fact that we created plenty of chances."
A win for Atletico Madrid in their home match against Levante on Saturday evening would see the 2013-14 La Liga champions move ahead of Barcelona at the top.
