Villarreal winger Denis Cheryshev has insisted that the Yellow Submarine have "nothing to lose" in their upcoming Copa del Rey semi-final with Barcelona.

Marcelino's side will travel to Camp Nou for the first leg on Wednesday having lost just one of their last 20 games in all competitions – a 3-2 defeat at Barca earlier this month.

"We have to face the match calmly, think about what's at stake and go there with the utmost excitement," Inside Spanish Football quotes Cheryshev as saying.

"We have nothing to lose and we're aware of how historically important this is for the club. It's not going to be for lack of desire on our part."

Cheryshev is currently on loan at Villarreal from Real Madrid.
