Goalkeeper Jed Steer will join Aston Villa on a free transfer in July.

Norwich City goalkeeper Jed Steer has agreed to join Aston Villa next month.

The 20-year-old's contract at Carrow Road is due to expire at the end of June and instead of continuing his career with the Canaries, the youngster has decided to link up with his former manager Paul Lambert at Villa Park.

"Bringing in Jed will also add to the goalkeeping department and helps with everyone pushing one another, learning from one another and making everyone better and wanting to improve," Lambert told the club's official website.

"You want competition for places throughout the team, which is something we didn't have last season."

Keepers Brad Guzan, Shay Given and Benji Siegrist are already at the club.
