Liverpool have reportedly prepared themselves to make a £38m bid to Villarreal for winger Arnaut Danjuma.
Jurgen Klopp's attacking options have been reduced significantly with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane heading off to play in the Africa Cup of Nations this month, while Roberto Firmino is out due to coronavirus and Divock Origi is sidelined with a knee injury.
Danjuma only arrived at Villarreal from Bournemouth in the summer but has already made his mark in Unai Emery's side, scoring nine goals in 18 appearances across all competitions this season.
Despite some reports suggesting that Liverpool will not make any signings this month, according to Fichajes, the Reds are prepared to make a bid for Danjuma to bolster their squad.
Villarreal are likely to be resilient with their stance on Danjuma's situation, which is that the Spanish outfit do not want to sell the 24-year-old, but Klopp is believed to be keen on securing the Dutch international's signature.
Danjuma has a long-term contract at La Ceramica running until 2026, giving Villarreal a strong hold on the winger.
