Jack Rodwell: 'Sunderland better than last season'

Jack Rodwell claims that Sunderland have a stronger squad this season, despite their slow start to the campaign.

Sunderland midfielder Jack Rodwell has insisted that they have a stronger squad this season, despite their slow start to the campaign.

The Black Cats currently sit bottom of the Premier League after failing to win any of their opening seven games.

"It's been a very frustrating start with only two points but the confidence is there because we train with each other every day and we know exactly what everyone can do," talkSPORT quotes Rodwell as saying.

"I know we have a good squad. I think we have a better squad than last season. And I thought last season we could have won a lot more games than we did."

Dick Advocaat's side host West Ham United at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.
