Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is planning a £20m move for Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez, according to a source close to the club.
Spurs have made subtle enquiries about the availability of the AWOL striker since the summer and could re-unite him with on-loan City striker Emmanuel Adebayor.
"People at Tottenham reckon a deal like this could be bigger than anything since they signed Jurgen Klinsmann," the source told The Sun.
"There's definite interest. The big stumbling block could be whether or not City are prepared to do business with a team now regarded as one of their rivals for the title."
Tevez, 27, currently collects a salary of £200,000 a week and would need to lower his wage demands in order to push through any possible move.
