Ally McCoist's job at Rangers is believed to be safe following 'constructive' talks with Charles Green.

Rangers manager Ally McCoist is expected to keep his job with Rangers following 'constructive' talks with club owner Charles Green.

The status of the Scottish coach has been in doubt in the last few days, with reports claiming that the 49-year-old could abandon the club after the relationship between McCoist and owner Green became strained.

It is understood that McCoist flew back from a holiday in Portugal to hold discussions with Green regarding his future, which have ended positively as the Gers coach is expected to keep his job, according to Sky Sports News.

Rangers chairman Malcolm Murray claimed today that he was confident that McCoist would take the club forward.
