Rangers manager Ally McCoist is reportedly closing in on an exit from the struggling Scottish club.
The 49-year-old is believed to have been considering his future with the former Scottish Premier League champions following the latest blow in the club's quest to come out of administration.
The Glasgow-based outfit are almost certainly heading for liquidation after the HM Revenue and Customs rejected the club's offer of a company voluntary arrangement headed by Charles Green's consortium.
It is understood that McCoist is on the brink of resigning from the club after losing faith in Green and following this latest development, which could spark a large exodus of players, according to Sky Sports News.
Green is expected to complete his takeover of Rangers as a newco for £5.5m.
