Peter Lovenkrands has confirmed that he is likely to leave Newcastle United on a free transfer.
The striker's contract is due to expire in the summer, but the club are reportedly keen on offering him fresh terms.
However, the 31-year-old believes that the time is right to vacate St James' Park.
"I've talked to the coach and he would like to extend my contract, but I cannot wait for that," he told TV.dk.
"In January, I can talk to whoever I want, so my agent is working to find me another club."
The Danish international joined the Magpies in 2009 from German club Schalke 04.
