Emanuele Giaccherini has departed Sunderland to join Italian side Napoli on a three-year contract.
The 31-year-old joined Sunderland from Juventus in 2013, but struggled to make his mark at the Stadium of Light and spent the 2015-16 campaign on loan at Bologna.
After impressing for Italy at Euro 2016, Giaccherini has earned a return to his home nation, with Napoli reportedly parting with just £2m to sign the midfielder.
"I have joined an important and prestigious club. I am very happy to be wearing the Napoli jersey. I cannot wait to start my new adventure with Napoli. It will be fantastic to play at the Stadio San Paolo," Giaccherini told reporters.
Giaccherini started his professional career with Cesena in 2004.
