Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho criticises the "quiet" atmosphere inside Old Trafford following his side's 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has criticised the atmosphere inside Old Trafford following his side's 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town this afternoon.

Alexis Sanchez marked his home debut by adding to Romelu Lukaku's opener as United returned to winning ways against the struggling Terriers, running out comfortable winners.

However, Mourinho was once again left frustrated by the "quiet" nature of the fans during the game, accusing the United supporters of being unenthusiastic.

"[Sanchez] played only three [matches since joining from Arsenal] and the first at Old Trafford, and I think Old Trafford, in spite of being a quiet stadium, the pitch is big, the grass is nice and obviously the players feel very comfortable playing here," he told reporters in his post-match press conference.

When then asked to explain his comments, Mourinho added: "It's not Portsmouth. I remember Portsmouth - such a small stadium, the atmosphere was absolutely incredible. In here, the atmosphere is a bit quiet and there is not very (much enthusiasm). But the players like to play at home."

United's next three matches all come away from home before they host Mourinho's former club Chelsea on February 25.
