Bayern Munich progress to the last four of the Champions League after Ivica Olic scores two first-half goals to kill off Marseille at the Allianz Arena.

Two goals from Ivica Olic against Marseille have ensured that Bayern Munich will feature in the Champions League semi-finals.

The German side took a two-goal cushion from last week's tie in Southern France and never looked like bottling the chance of a last-four clash against either Real Madrid or APOEL Nicosia.

Croatian forward Olic gave the hosts a 13th-minute lead by sidefooting home former Marseille winger Franck Ribery's cross.

Toni Kroos smacked the post minutes before the lead was doubled in the 37th minute when Ribery fed David Alaba, who found Olic at the near post to turn past Steve Mandanda.

Munich resumed the tie at a leisurely pace after the interval, knowing they had virtually secured a place in the semis. They will find out their opponent tomorrow when Madrid bring an ominous three-goal lead to the Bernabeu.
