Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger insists that he wants to keep captain Robin van Persie at the club beyond the summer.

Arsene Wenger has reiterated his desire to keep hold of Robin van Persie at Arsenal beyond the end of the summer transfer window.

The Dutch international has been heavily linked with moves to either Manchester club or Juventus following his revelation that he would not be extending his contract, which has just 12 months left to run.

However, when asked by reporters for the latest on Van Persie's situation, Wenger insisted that he is not looking to sell the 28-year-old.

"The options are clear. We want to keep our players," he said. "I would be happy for him to stay in the English Premier League at Arsenal."

Van Persie has been left out of Arsenal's pre-season tour of Asia.
