Borussia Dortmund have reportedly informed Arsenal that they will not entertain the idea of a swap deal between Olivier Giroud and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Gunners are believed to be in pole position to land Aubameyang after the player became involved in a falling-out with the Dortmund hierarchy amid his attempts to orchestrate a move.
The Bundesliga outfit are said to want at least £60m for the prolific striker but according to a report earlier this week, the Gunners have attempted to reduce their cash outlay by offering a fee of £30m plus the services of Giroud, who remains down the pecking order for starting selection.
According to RMC Sport, the German side have now made it clear to Arsenal that any deal for the Frenchman should be entirely separate to that for Aubameyang and have categorically ruled out a part-exchange deal.
The publication adds, however, that Dortmund remain keen on bringing in Giroud this month, having previously attempted to land him last summer, and will pursue separate negotiations for the player over the coming weeks.
Aubameyang already has 21 goals in 25 appearances for Dortmund so far this season.
