Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby has admitted that the 2012-13 season will be "crucial" for him in his bid to remain with the London club beyond his current contract.
The French midfielder's current deal will expire next summer and there are doubts on whether he will be given a new contract because of his injury problems.
Diaby suffered calf and hamstring issues last season and could make just five appearances as a substitute for the Gunners.
The 26-year-old, however, is determined to give more to Arsenal in the upcoming campaign.
"It is a crucial season and it is really important for me to be back strong and have a very good year," The Sun quotes him as saying.
Arsenal will begin their Premier League campaign against Sunderland at the Emirates on Saturday, August 18.
