A report claims that Arsenal are still on the lookout for a new left-back due to fears over Nacho Monreal's long-term future at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal are reportedly still in the market for a new left-back as they fear losing Nacho Monreal at the end of the season.

The Spanish defender, currently on the sidelines with a hamstring injury sustained last month, is due to be out of contract at the Emirates Stadium next summer.

Gunners boss Unai Emery is said to be keen to tie the 32-year-old down to a new deal, but the search for a replacement has still stepped up over the past few weeks.

According to The Mirror, a permanent successor is being scouted ahead of the January transfer window, with Arsenal being forced to plug the gap in that troublesome position by using Granit Xhaka and Ainsley Maitland-Niles there already this season.

Liverpool full-back Alberto Moreno has been linked with a switch to North London, having previously worked with Emery at Sevilla.
