Sports Mole rounds up the all-time top scorers list in the Champions League, a collection of legends led by two of the greatest of all time in Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Kylian Mbappe has become just the ninth player in history to reach a half-century of Champions League goals after bringing up his 50 during Real Madrid's thrilling victory over Atalanta BC on Tuesday night.

The former Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain star experienced a night of mixed emotions, opening the scoring in Bergamo within 10 minutes, but then being forced off through injury before half time as Madrid went on to pick up a vital 3-2 win.

Mbappe's strike saw him reach the milestone of 50 goals in the competition, moving clear of a Madrid icon in Alfredo di Stefano and level with Arsenal legend Thierry Henry as the second-highest scoring Frenchman in the Champions League.

Remarkably, Mbappe has reached his half-century in just 79 appearances, whereas Henry ended his illustrious career with 50 goals in 112 Champions League outings.

Still only 25 years old, Mbappe also became the second-youngest player to make it to 50 goals in the competition, trailing only Lionel Messi in that list.

Next in the Frenchman's sights is Thomas Muller, although the Bayern Munich stalwart added to his own tally on Tuesday night too, moving to within one goal of Ruud van Nistelrooy with his 55th Champions League strike in the win over Shakhtar Donetsk.

Elsewhere, Mohamed Salah was also on the scoresheet with his 46th Champions League goal, drawing level with Erling Haaland, Eusebio and Filippo Inzaghi in the all-time list.

Here, Sports Mole looks at the latest standings in the Champions League top-scorers list, including every player to have scored 40 goals or more in the competition proper.
