Wolverhampton Wanderers keen on Juan Agudelo

Wolverhampton Wanderers hand a trial to USA international striker Juan Agudelo, who has previously come close to joining Stoke City.

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Kenny Jackett has revealed that the club have handed a trial to American striker Juan Agudelo.

Stoke City have twice failed to secure a work permit for the 21-year-old, but Jackett does not anticipate any problems in tying up a move should Wolves pursue the idea of signing the former New York Revolution forward.

The 52-year-old is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying: "I don't think the work permit is an issue. Everything looks OK.

"We haven't applied for one because we haven't decided to sign him yet but the enquiries that we've made so far suggest everything will be fine if we want to take him.

"He's 21 so if we do sign him, we'll be looking to make him a first-team striker. He's been on trial this week so we'll have a look at him in the game and then we'll talk."

Agudelo, who has scored twice in 18 appearances for USA, will feature in a friendly against Queens Park Rangers on Friday afternoon.
