Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup wants to build on his side's success last season despite being linked with the vacant post at Everton.

Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has outlined his desire to stay at the club next season and build on their success.

The Dane has been linked with the vacant post at Everton following his first year with the Swans as he guided them to success in the Capital One Cup along with a mid-table Premier League finish.

Laudrup told Sky Sports News: "I wanted to stay because the club said they were going to strengthen their team. Of course we need to do that, but I'm sure they will keep their word about that.

"And then I want to stay for the fans and also for some of the players - they came for me so I can't just leave them after one season. We started planning a couple of months ago, so there's a lot of work to do."

Laudrup replaced Brendan Rodgers at the Liberty Stadium in June 2012.
