Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has expressed his frustration at the "expensive" cost of British players.
The Welsh club recently sold Joe Allen to Liverpool for £15m and brought in Michu from Rayo Vallecano for £2m.
"The bigger clubs, the players there don't want to leave and even players from other clubs in the Premier League are expensive," said the Dane.
"The problem is, for example, what would an offensive midfielder in the Premier League scoring 15 goals a season be worth? He would be worth more than the £2m we paid for Michu.
"We have to be careful not to always go for foreigners, but in Britain you would have an issue with value for money."
The Swans kick off their Premier League campaign at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.
