Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Swansea City midfielder Joe Allen on a long-term deal.
The Reds had been heavily linked with a move for the Wales international this summer following Brendan Rodgers's switch from the Swans to Anfield.
Swansea were reluctant to sell one of their star assets, but Liverpool have triggered a reported £15m release clause in his contract.
Allen was in the crowd for Liverpool's match against FC Gomel last night and the transfer was completed today after he passed a medical at their Melwood training base.
The 22-year-old is Rodgers's second signing of the summer after the arrival of Fabio Borini from Roma.
